Since many bonspiels (ok, mostly ladies and mixed) have themes and team skits, every Saturday we'll be posting a new song where the lyrics have been changed to fit the sport of curling.
Today we have a poem instead of a song, based on Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss.
I do not like the Roaring Game!
I do not like it, it's so lame.
You do not like it. So you say.
Try it! Throw one!And you may.
Try it and you may, I say.
OK! If you will let me be,
I will throw one. You will see.
Say! I like the Roaring Game!
I do! I like it, I exclaim!
And I can throw stones down the ice.
And I can throw them oh so nice...
And I will curl games in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. I love to spiel.
It is so good, so fun, I feel!
So I will throw stones fast and slow.
And I will throw them, oh just so!
And I will throw stones in a house.
And I will throw them with a spouse.
And I will curl both here and there.
Say! I will curl now ANYWHERE!
I do so like
to curl all day!
Thank you!
Thank you, Now go play!
